Organisations & official packages

Register your company's GitHub organisation, verify it with GitHub (and optionally your domain) and get the Official badge for packages from your own repositories.

Companies and open-source projects can publish under their own name on Denofy. An organisation has its own page at /org/<name> with logo, description, website, members and packages.

Badges#

BadgeMeaning
Verified OrgA member proved on GitHub to be an owner of the GitHub organisation. Shown on the organisation page and on packages that belong to it.
OfficialThe package belongs to a verified organisation and comes from one of that organisation's own repositories. Only this case says Official.
By DenofyMaintained by the Denofy team (the example skills). Not a statement about any other company.
Community importSomeone else's work, imported from a public repository with its license and attribution, not published by the original author or organisation.

An import of a company's skill by someone else is never Official — it shows "Original by company · imported by someone" and the Community import badge until the company verifies (see below). Organisation pages are only public after the GitHub verification succeeded; an unverified organisation is visible to its members only and is never named next to a package.

The search has an Official or by Denofy filter (/search?official=1, API: official=1), and the home page shows the logos of verified organisations under Official skills once there are any.

Register and verify#

  1. Sign in and open Dashboard → Organisations. Enter the GitHub organisation (the login on github.com, e.g. anthropics), a display name, the Denofy URL and optionally website and description.
  2. Click Verify with GitHub. Denofy asks GitHub (GET /user/memberships/orgs/<org>) whether you are an active owner of the organisation. The first time, Denofy asks you to sign in with GitHub again and allow organisation access (read:org); Denofy only reads your memberships, nothing else.
  3. Done: the organisation is a Verified Org.

When an organisation is verified, every package from a repository of its GitHub organisation joins the organisation. Copies that someone imported are claimed: ownership moves to the member who verified, the original importer is notified and "imported by" stays visible as history. Every verification is recorded in the audit log.

Packages can also be moved into an organisation you belong to under Package settings → Organisation.

Verify your domain (optional)#

With a website set, the organisation can also verify its domain:

  1. Start domain check shows a TXT record, for example:

    TypeNameValue
    TXT_denofy.example.comdenofy-verification=3f9c… (your token)
  2. Add it at your DNS provider and click Check DNS record. The organisation page then shows the verified domain next to the name.

Changing the website resets the domain check.

Members#

Owners and admins can add members by their Denofy username (they must have signed in once) and edit the profile. Members are listed on the organisation page.
